Spectrum Comms with Salients for Wollongong City Council
Project Objectives
The Coastal Management Act 2016 requires Council to prepare and implement a Coastal Management Program (CMP) which will detail the future use, management, and development of the Wollongong coastal environment in an ecologically sustainable way, for the social, cultural and economic well-being.
Our Role
Spectrum Comms partnered with coastal engineers Salients to undertake community engagement and technical investigations for Stage 1 of the development of the Wollongong CMP. This work included:
- Preparing a Community Engagement Strategy to support delivery of engagement throughout all stages of the project.
- Developing communication collateral including posters, corflutes and DL-size flyers, social media, media releases and maintaining the project page on Engagement HQ.
- Facilitating a Councillor workshop, staff interviews, community pop-up stalls, an online survey, online story tool and interactive mapping tool.
Outcomes
- 630 unique stakeholder interactions including 223 survey responses, 128 map pins and 16 staff interviews, 8 online stories shared, 300 DL flyers distributed.
- 12 written submissions received.
- 15,000 average Facebook impressions per post.
