Project Objectives
The Tuggerah Lakes Expert Panel was established as an advisory panel to the Tuggerah Lakes Working Group, tasked with engaging the community and key stakeholders in the development of strategies to improve water quality in Tuggerah Lakes. Funded by the NSW Government, the panel required a clear and coordinated framework for communications and engagement activities to ensure transparency, public input, and broad participation throughout the process.
Our Role
Spectrum Comms designed and delivered a comprehensive program of engagement and communications initiatives. This work included:
- Designing and launching a Social Pinpoint project site with interactive mapping, online discussion boards, online stakeholder forums, online survey, documents folder, project timeline and Panel member profiles.
- Managing communication channels such as media releases, posters, infographics, and a dedicated Facebook page.
- Developing a project brand and enquiry and complaints protocols.
- Identifying and managing positive media opportunities.
- Facilitating online ‘close the loop’ forums to report back on the Panel’s final report and recommendations.
Outcomes
- Over 2,700 stakeholders engaged during the consultation period.
- Facebook reach of nearly 40,000 people.
- 7,000+ visits to the project website.
- 500 comments and 700 reactions on the interactive map.
- 389 online survey responses.
- 18 written submissions and 130 participants in feedback forums.
