Project Objectives

The Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycleway will provide the only cycling link between Sydney central business district (CBD) and North Sydney CBD. The current cycleway access to the Harbour Bridge, at Milson Point, is via a 55-step connection, next to Burton Street.

Our Role

Working onsite and in partnership with Transport for NSW Community and Stakeholder team, we are responsible for the overall development, management and delivery of the project’s community and stakeholder engagement activities, including:

• advocating for the community to reduced construction impacts.
• managing the community information line and effectively responding to questions, concerns or complaints.
• working closely with the project team to ensure known stakeholder impacts are proactively considered and mitigated.
• leading the development and maintenance of community relations specific induction and internal communication tools to ensure best practice is upheld across the site.

Outcomes

• timely communication with impacted local residents, businesses and cycleway users in the project area.
• management of an extensive respite program for residents impacted by night work.
• successful ‘Shop Local’ campaign in conjunction with Transport for NSW.
• working with local heritage groups on heritage walk inlays for Bradfield Park walk, and local indigenous groups on paving design for the ramp.
