Spectrum Comms with City of Newcastle
Project Objectives
City of Newcastle is leading the revitalisation of the iconic Newcastle Ocean Baths and Bathers Way Coastal Walk – two much-loved, and regionally significant community spaces with a fascinating history, strong community interest and breathtaking yet complex natural assets.
Our Role
Spectrum Comms was engaged to develop and lead the CRG facilitation and engagement process through a series of Community Reference Groups (CRGs). This work included:
- Designing and facilitating a series of CRG workshops to seek feedback on design concepts in accordance with the Terms of Reference and in the lead up to the projects regionally significant development application.
- Preparing workshop materials and guided sessions.
- Capturing and summarising feedback, conversations, and key questions raised.
- Delivering targeted focus groups on key design elements, including kiosks and community spaces.
- Preparing session summaries and engagement reporting.
Outcomes
- Seven CRG workshops, directly informing the final concept design.
- Facilitation and workshop design for three separate engagements with the CRG.
- Integrating CRG outcomes to the design and construction tender.
