Spectrum Comms with Moree Plains Shire Council

Project Objectives

Moree Plains Shire Council was required to undertake a review of its Community Engagement Strategy, Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program, and Operational Plan to align with the new term of Council. This review was required under the Local Government Act following the 2021 Local Government Election to ensure that all strategic documents reflected current priorities, legislative obligations, and community needs.

Our Role

Spectrum Comms was engaged to review and update the strategy and plan and support engagement for the development of the Community Strategic Plan. This work included:

  • Facilitating face-to-face workshops with Councillors, Council staff, business leaders.
  • Facilitating online workshops with community members.
  • Coordinating three pop-up events across the LGA.
  • Designing an online survey.
  • Developing a kitchen table discussion kit for community use.
  • Developing a children’s art competition.
  • Developing a DL-size flyer with detachable reply-paid feedback form distributed to more than 6000 households.
  • Developing communication collateral including posters, corflutes, social media videos and tiles, and website content, consultation outcomes infographics.
Outcomes
  • 646 unique stakeholder interactions across five engagement tools.
  • 387 survey responses received, and 47 feedback forms mailed.
  • 183 face-to-face workshops participants and 25 online workshop participants.
  • Three pop-up events held across the LGA.
  • A reviewed and renewed Community Strategic Plan, plus input into the Delivery Program and Operational Plan.
