Spectrum Comms with University of Newcastle

Project Objectives

The Institute for Regional Futures is one of the University of Newcastle’s flagship research institutes. For decades, the Institute has partnered with governments, industries and communities providing evidence and strategy to support them to make the best decisions for their future and the future of their regions under the banner of Hunter Research Foundation Centre. In 2022, it relaunched as the Institute for Regional Futures.

Our Role

Spectrum Comms was engaged to provide communication support for the launch of the rebranded Institute. This included:

• preparing a video brief and engaging a local production company to produce two vox pop-style videos about what people loved about living in a regional area.
• preparing speech notes, website and social media content.
• reviewing the draft research report to be released at the launch.
• preparing draft opinion pieces for distribution to local media.
• researching and designing a podcast plan for the Institute to showcase its research.

Outcomes

• The Institute was successfully launched on 27 September 2022 and was attended by local, state and federal elected representatives.
