Snowy Hydro Hunter Power Project

Spectrum Comms with Snowy Hydro

Project Objectives

Snowy Hydro is delivering a gas-fired power station at the former Hydro Aluminium site at Kurri Kurri, designed to generate 660 megawatts of dispatchable energy to support the National Energy Market. The project includes two Open Cycle Gas Turbines (OCGT), a new power station and electrical switchyard.

The facility uses hydrogen-ready, gas turbine technology to provide more flexible and efficient power generation than ageing coal-fired infrastructure, ensuring long-term energy security for the region and beyond.
