How Spectrum Comms Started
Seven years ago, Spectrum Comms began with a simple idea: to create a flexible workplace for ourselves and build something meaningful together. What started as a conversation between friends who really loved working together has grown into a thriving consultancy with over 55 clients, a passionate team, and projects that have shaped the Hunter region. It also helps that we still really love working together!

To help us get here, we agreed on what mattered most: people, trust, excellence, and creativity. These values have guided every decision, every campaign, and every relationship we’ve built. They’re not just words on a page or buzz words that look good on a website, they’re the reason we’ve been able to grow together and succeed.

We knew that starting a business from scratch was going to be tough and it was definitely scary – that first Christmas was a lean one! Over the years, we’ve celebrated milestones big and small – like welcoming two babies into the Spectrum family (Hugh and Millie) and learning to balance work and life while keeping our goals aligned. Do we always get that balance right? Honestly, our kids and husbands might say no. We’ve definitely made a few mistakes along the way, but every challenge has taught us something valuable.
Balancing Work, Family and Growth
Running a business while juggling family life isn’t easy, and sometimes the scales tip in the wrong direction. But we’ve learned, adapted, and grown stronger because of it. And yes, our hairdressers deserve a medal for covering up the greys that come with the territory!
Every project is an opportunity to deliver excellence and showcase creativity, and we’re proud of the reputation and the team we’ve built.
One of the most rewarding parts of our journey? Driving past major infrastructure projects in the Hunter and telling our kids, “We worked on that.” It’s a reminder that our work doesn’t just tell stories, it helps shape the region we call home.
